Portal Content Integration Senior Associate, Rivers Consulting & Staffing – NJ



Woodcliff Lake, NJ based company is seeking a Portal Content Integration Senior Associate. The goal of the US Portal Integration role is to work as part of the Knowledge & Collaboration Management (KCM) team and to be a liaison with our content owners in various business units and IT to implement the vision of the Employee Portal and the underlying content areas and functionality. This role will manage all activities around site creation including requirements gathering, content planning and integration, and launch.

Skills



• 5-10 years working knowledge of content management, information architecture, portal, search and collaboration tools and best practices



• Solid understanding of intranet/web development tools and technology especially SharePoint, HTML, JavaScript and Adobe Creative Suite



• Demonstrated knowledge in establishing and supporting content management processes for Intranets



• Strong communication, negotiation, interpersonal skills and management skills



• Strong understanding of project management methodologies



• Proficient with MS Office



• Prior experience with Mobile, Social Media or Search technologies a plus



• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or technology



Duties







This business-facing role will ensure that the company expands and supports the value of our enterprise Intranet so it enables our end users to the find the information they need quickly and intuitively to answer their questions, perform their job tasks more easily and expand our business opportunities. As such, he or she should possess strong communication skills and have the ability to work collaboratively.



The Content Integration Senior Associate works with various site owners, usually at the Senior Associate and Manager level, as well as their teams to create new SharePoint websites and integrate content into the company Portal utilizing and adhering to website technical, meta data and front-end design standards.



The candidate will help to ensure that Portal content is intuitively organized, easy to manage and presented effectively to our partners and staff. This role must have a strong understanding of Intranet best practices as well as experience in Information Architecture and Accessibility standards including Section 508 compliance.



This role prioritizes project tasks under the direction of US Knowledge and Collaboration Management Leadership as well as the Global Knowledge organization. Hence, the candidate for this role must have the ability to develop a deep understanding of the Firm’s business priorities.



The candidate should have an understanding of SharePoint and MS Office. He or she must also have a thorough understanding of other Portal and web technologies including Net Insights Web Reporting and wireframe/mock up tools. Expertise with mobile sites or social media is a plus.



This role is also responsible for identifying when site requirements dictate the need for light configuration or custom IT development. As such, this role will also liaise with US Portal Technology Manager, local IT teams and off-shore teams to coordinate implementation and ensure tasks are executed within scope and are compliant with technical and design standards.



This role will work closely with other KCM team members on various activities including:



• Working with the Content Integration Lead, US Portal Program/Project Manager and US Portal business owners to determine priorities and plans around site development and information architecture.



• Delivering hands-on SharePoint configuration support and training to content managers so they can properly create their pages, upload and manage their content, and set up access to sites.



• Working with the US Portal Design and Usability Manager to ensure sites conform to online brand guidelines and create wireframes / mock ups of site concepts.



• Providing oversight and management of content and web development tasks and timelines to ensure content owners, KCM, IT (if needed) understand their roles and deliverables



• Helping to drive adoption of content management strategies within then business units to align business and content development goals



• Supporting change management activities to promote online tools and content within the platform







• Works with the US Portal Content Integration Associate Director to determine the implementation plan for employee Portal sites and related content areas.



• Coordinates relationships and activities with content owners, application managers and their teams to ensure content and applications are properly integrated into the Portal with a focus on the information architecture, metadata, content management and searchability.



• Identifies custom functionality requirements, and, where appropriate, works with IT to identify development needs and dependencies.



• Works with the Program/ Project Manager to ensure the content owners, KCM and IT understands roles, deliverables and timelines.



• Promotes online tools, supports adoption of the overall Knowledge platform and contributes to change management efforts that support the alignment of content development and deployment strategies across the US enterprise.



• Implements standards, processes and templates for the Portal to ensure the appropriate support mechanisms exist for content owners and end users. Examples include communicating content integration guidelines and content quality checklists. Works with US KCM team on training on standards, guidelines and tools.



• Provides hands-on support to content publishers so they can properly and efficiently create their pages, manage their content, and set up access to their sites.



• Works with global counterparts and vendors on implementing standards consistently and integrating content and functionality
