We are
looking for an outgoing and organized person to be a part of the library
relations team at the Practising Law Institute.
Core responsibilities include, but are not limited to, developing PLI’s
ebook library, training clients how to use our ebook library, client account maintenance, and customer service to our library customers.
Responsibilities include:
- Usability testing
- Soliciting customer feedback and synthesizing the feedback for management and development team
- Coordinate with departments inside PLI
- Support the sales of publications and account maintenance
- Respond to telephone and written inquiries from internal and external customers
- Conduct industry/market research
- Support online and print book sales, act as technical laison between library relations, sales team, publishing and IT.
- Attend trade shows as necessary.
- Attend onsite client meetings and give presentations.
Qualifications
- Self directed and capable of driving multiple initiatives simultaneously
- Instructional experience and presentation skills.
- Broad based knowledge and experience with legal information resources and legal technology applications.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong customer service attitude.
- Displayed project management skills.
- An understanding of online research, especially of how to search online resources such as Westlaw, Lexis, etc
- High energy and an ability to interact positively and effectively with librarians.
Preferred
Qualifications
- MLS (or demonstrated progress towards) or comparable library experience.
- Experience developing online databases or related Business Development skills
- Research experience, including working with legal databases such as Westlaw, Lexis, etc. Knowledge of online research
- Law library experience
- Knowledge of legal and publishing industry
The salary range is $50,000 – $60,000.
