Manager, Information Services/Financial Firm

SUMMARY:
Our
client, a premier global financial services firm has a position that
involves management of, and participation in, the day to day functions
carried out by the corporate information center. These functions include
conducting custom research assignments, delivering research results to
internal clients, administration of user accounts for market data
services, arranging training on information services, investigating new
information resources, advising internal business units on resource
options and working with vendors to negotiate and execute contracts for
market data resources.
Responsibilities:
Perform
customized, in-depth information research on a variety of complex
subjects to support the information needs of the financial, corporate
and other staff of the firm
Format, package and deliver results of research projects to clients in an appropriate format
Research
and evaluate new and renewing information services, including
electronic sources, books, periodicals, newsletters and other media
Advise and make recommendations to internal business units on new and renewing information sources
Negotiate price, terms and conditions of new and renewal agreements with market data vendors
Provide and/or arrange for training on electronic information sources delivered to the desktops of financial staff
Requirements:
Excellent communication, interpersonal and organization skills
Ability to work independently as well as in coordination with other team members
Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects
Strong
proficiency with specialized online and print market data resources
used in the financial information world, including, but not limited to
Factiva, Eikon, Capital IQ, Factset, SDC Platinum, Pacer, LoanConnector,
S&P LCD, SNL, S&P Ratings Direct and others
Business background and familiarity with financial terms and concepts
MLS or MLIS degree from an accredited graduate program
