Group Summary:The Business Information Services team, part of the Research Library, drives business value by providing world class research insights to CG associates across the globe. The team focuses its efforts on understanding the complex questions our internal clients are trying to answer, and returns high-quality, thoroughly-vetted qualitative and quantitative information to help answer those questions.
The Business Research Specialist will utilize expert search skills, a broad and deep knowledge of an extensive set of information resources, and the exemplary communication and partnership abilities required to develop a nuanced understanding of our internal clients’ information needs in order to provide teams across Capital Group with accurate, thoughtful, and actionable research support.


Role summary: Demonstrates full knowledge in assigned areaand is an experienced sole contributor. Provides timely and customized research and reference services by searching a broad range of resources and databases such as: FactSet, Capital IQ, Bloomberg, Eikon, Datastream, SNL, Rimes, Haver, Euromonitor, Factiva, Lexis-Nexis and EBSCOhost. Maintains familiarity with and uses a range of external information resources, including print publications, databases, internet content, professional associations and/or government bodies to answer a variety of queries received from associates.

Primary responsibilities/essential functions:
  • Provides research services to associates.
  • Works within global team to assist in managing workflow and capacity in delivery of research services.
  • Prioritizes requests in order to meet client deadlines.
  • Communicates with requestor in order to ascertain needs, discuss options and provide status updates.
  • Interprets client needs, identifies resources and content, collects and assesses relevant information, and packages/assembles results in a meaningful format.
  • Delivers a high level of client service when fulfilling information requests, matching the business need while balancing department priorities.
  • Stays current on the latest information resources and services available within the industry, including professional reading, and attending seminars, webinars, and conferences as appropriate.
  • Leads or contributes to a variety of meetings and activities within the team.
  • Participates in global workflow monitoring rotation and assigns work as needed.
  • Contributes to knowledge sharing within team.
  • Provides input and participates in team discussions and brainstorm meetings.
  • Collaborates with team members on projects or initiatives
  • Leads orientations and training of resources and databases for associate from various departments.
  • Supports the learning and development of Business Research Associates as appropriate.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.
