P/T - On Call Librarian, Wyandanch Lib (NY)

Overview
 
The Wyandanch Public Library seeks a dynamic On Call Librarian to become part of the Wyandanch Team. Under the supervision of the Librarian II, the On-Call Librarian works as part of the WPL team and performs basic library work with a strong concentration on service to adult, young adult and children areas (ages birth- 12).

This position requires professional knowledge of multiple areas of adult, young adult and children's services, high self-motivation, strong interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively, and the passion for working in diverse communities. Class of 2019 LIS graduates are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities.
 
● Plans, conducts, schedules, and evaluates age-appropriate programs
● Maintains the attractive appearance of adult, young adult and children`s departments
● Periodically provides reference all age groups

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
 
● General experience working with the public in diverse communities
● Knowledge of literature and programming
● Bilingual skills highly desirable
● A Master's Degree in Library Science (MLS) or a Master of Science in Information Science (MSIS) from a library school that is accredited by the American Library Association or registered by the New York State Education Department
