The Floral Park Public Library, in Floral Park, NY, is looking for an enthusiastic, flexible librarian to work at Adult Reference for up to 17 hours per week. Schedule requires evenings and at least two Saturdays monthly availability.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
• General public desk duties, including handling inquiries regarding programming, library services, organize displays and library signage. • Assists in keeping statistics for annual reports.
• An ability to perform online searches, research databases and work with Sierra, Encore and Eventkeeper.
• Patient and skilled tech assistant to patrons using computers, mobile devices and printers.
• Knowledge and comfort in working with Canva as well .as with social media, including Facebook, Instagram.
• Assists with programming, including summer programs, and contributes to collection selection.
• Other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
• MLS Degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited program.
• Current NYS Public Librarian's Certificate.
• Salary is $33.26 per hour. This is a non-competitive Nassau County Civil Service position.
