Content Specialist, McKinsey & Co. (CT)

McKinsey & Co. is seeking a Content Specialist for its Stamford, CT office.


Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree and demonstrated intellectual curiosity through professional training, advanced degree or professional impact
  • Demonstrated record of impact in content management or research with at least 3-5 years of professional experience, likely in consulting/ professional services, academia, or external relations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/PowerPoint and ability or interest to learn Tableau or other visualization tools to identify trends in our client work, track and communicate opportunities across the globe where our innovation practitioners can make impact
  • Outstanding English written and oral communication skills; fluency in other languages is strongly desired
  • Comfort with ambiguity and flexibility as priorities shift, in a fast-paced, client-centric environment
  • Management and creation of databases and ability to quickly adapt to an organization's databases for client tracking
Who You'll Work With

You will work in our Stamford office, and be part of the Strategy & Corporate Finance practice. You will support and report to the global innovation content manager, and will interact directly with our global innovation colleagues including the practice leaders and knowledge experts globally.

The practice is the client introduction engine of the firm. Our fast-growing Innovation Center of Excellence (CoE) within the practice is an accelerator for our client service work in innovation. We are building new capabilities and cultivating our community of interested practitioners.


What You'll Do

You will manage our extensive innovation library, ensuring that documents are updated and accessible, and will ensure that documents, intellectual property and knowledge assets are appropriately secure.

In this role, you will directly follow-up on first alerts from the global McKinsey community and develop a curiosity and understanding of how we help clients on innovation topics. You will be responsible for gathering key content for proposals and responses to external research organizations, e.g. Forrester, Gartner, ALM. You will analyze demand for our materials and gaps we must fill as well as spot opportunities to improve processes. You will steward our knowledge resources, ,e.g., proposal documents, CEO discussion documents etc., to ensure consistency across teams and the firm.

In your day to day, you will share knowledge and documents leveraging communication tools like BOX, Slack, Trello or others as needed. You will also assist innovation teams to convert knowledge ‘from the field’ directly into usable knowledge assets via PowerPoint, videos, proposal templates.

You will coordinate with stakeholders, such as writers, camera crew, editors, external advisors, to tightly manage webcasts, podcasts and writing projects, in conjunction with the global and regional Communication and External Relations teams. You will track multiple long-term projects at various publication stages, follow potential publication paths and be aware of internal communication channels that are most effective for sharing our work.

Lastly, you will develop relationships and get to know the consultants seeking to do innovation work. You will cultivate a sense of community within the group.
