Job Title: Research Analyst
Location: New York, NY
Our client is one of the world's largest independent financial advisory groups.
They are seeking a Research
Analyst who works to provide information support, specifically with
client and new investment banking employee onboarding of the Mergers
& Acquisitions (M&A) and Restructuring Advisory businesses.
Responsibilities
- Manage extensive background and reputational searches on vendors, prospective clients and new investment banking employees using the World Check platform, Pacer and other market data sources
- Conduct client onboarding tasks such as identifying key management and shareholders of companies, retrieving corporate documentation from global corporate registries, confirming the status or outcome of litigation involving potential clients
- Perform efficient research over a wide range of business topics using market data sources from Thomson Reuters, Capital IQ, Factiva, SEC filings, Pitchbook, among others
- Communicate results in writing, summarizing search strategy, results and notable findings to internal clients and the Compliance team
- Provide guidance to end-users in basic research tasks
- Keep track of billable hours and reference sources used
- Effectively communicate across all levels
Education and Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree
- 1+ years of prior experience preferred
Experience, Skills and Competencies Preferred
- Proficiency using FactSet, Capital IQ, Thomson One Banker, Factiva, Pacer and general
internet search tools preferred
- Background in Compliance, corporate research or paralegal experience preferred
- Ability to prioritize requests while working in a fast paced environment
