Part-time Reference Librarian Position
Riverhead
Free Library, in Riverhead, NY, is seeking an energetic and
customer service-oriented librarian to attend to patron inquiries at our busy
adult reference desk. Applicants for this part-time position should
possess:

Excellent customer
service skills
·
Competency in
assisting patrons with eBook readers
·
Skill in assessing and
resolving technology/computer problems
·
A high level of
attention to detail and an ability to multitask
·
Knowledge of social
media
·
Experience in providing
reader’s advisory services
·
An interest in
planning library programs, leading book discussions, and conducting book talks
·
The desire to work in
a diverse community.
Qualifications:
·
MLS from an ALA accredited
institution
·
A valid NYS Public
Librarian Certificate
A strong
work ethic and flexibility are essential. Applicants must be willing and
able to work weekends and evenings on a scheduled and as-needed basis.
