College Library of The City University of New York seeks a full-time
Substitute library faculty member for Fall 2018 at the rank of either
Assistant Professor
or Instructor. This is a temporary, full-time position beginning on
October 1, 2018 through January 2019, with the possibility of renewal
for Spring 2019.
The Substitute reference librarian’s responsibilities will include:
- Participating in reference desk services
- Participating in the Library’s Information Literacy instruction program
- Serving as the subject liaison for assigned academic department(s), including Collection Development responsibilities
- Assisting in preparing and maintaining subject guides (LibGuides)
- Other duties as assigned
Required qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Library Science from ALA accredited program or equivalent degree for appointment as a Substitute Instructor; appointment as a Substitute Assistant Professor requires an additional Master’s degree or doctorate
Schedule:
- Four days a week working either 10am-6pm or 11am-7pm, and on Saturday 9am-5pm
Preferred qualifications include:
- Academic library experience
