TITLE: Project Cataloger
STATUS: Part-Time
DURATION: January 2025–December 2025

REPORTS TO: Digital Archivist
WORKS WITH: Archives Department, Cataloging Project Manager
COMPENSATION: $21.00–$24.00 per hour
HOURS: 15–25 hours per week, flexible schedule
POSITION OVERVIEW
Jacob’s Pillow seeks several Project Catalogers to
work with the Digital Archivist on a grant-funded project to improve
Jacob’s Pillow’s digital infrastructure. Catalogers are responsible for
consistently entering accurate metadata into a CollectiveAccess
database.
RESPONSIBILITIES

Cataloging digital objects, primarily audiovisual and photographic materials, in CollectiveAccess—Jacob’s Pillow’s content management system. Cataloging will consist of both creating new and updating existing records.

Quality control checking catalog records generated by other project catalogers.

Maintaining cataloging standards as well as efficient and accurate data entry on a daily basis.

Maintaining a safe, healthy, and inclusive work environment at all times.
Qualifications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION

One year of cataloging experience or equivalent coursework

Graduate degree in library or archival science earned or in progress

Familiarity with metadata and cataloging standards including FRBR and Dublin Core

Experience with CollectiveAccess

Experience with Asana and Google Workspace

General knowledge of dance, dance history, and/or Jacob’s Pillow history

Excellent critical thinking, organizational skills, and attention to detail
