Part-Time Librarian Position
The Rockville Centre Public Library is seeking an enthusiastic Librarian or Librarian Trainee to work in our Adult Reference Department.
Hours:
· Every other Saturday 9am-5pm
· On-call availability a plus
· Sunday hours available at premium rate
Duties and skills include but are not limited to:
· Provide readers’ advisory
· Strong customer service skills
· Provide technology assistance with public computers, mobile devices, laptops and apps
· Provide reference services using online and print resources
· Experience with Encore, Sierra, Overdrive and Eventkeeper a plus
· Assist with collection development
· Motivated to learn new technologies
Qualifications:
· MLS from an ALA accredited institution
· Current NYS Public Librarian Certificate
· Must be a Nassau County resident
· Librarian Trainee must possess a minimum of 12 credits in ALA accredited MLS
Salary: $25 per hour (librarian) $23 per hour (trainee)
