This position is responsible for the day to day processing, routing, and distribution of research materials.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Receives
new periodical and newspaper issues (online and print), checks them
into the ILS (integrated library system) and prepares and sends for
routing.
Orders, materials, receives new items and checks them into the ILS
Orders, labels and distributes deskbooks
Deals with vendors to resolve missing issues, subscription, and billing problems
Creates and maintains distribution lists for routing purposes, electronically and print
Creates catalog records for new periodicals
Maintains periodicals database in the firm’s document management system
Maintains news server watches, adds and deletes users
Monitors and posts stories about the firm to the intranet homepage
Assists with filing pocket parts
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Experience with legal materials and using an automated technical services system. Experience with SirsiDynix Horizon a plus
Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Windows, Word, Excel, Outlook, Acrobat
Excellent interpersonal, communication and writing skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a highly pressured environment
Ability to multi-task and to complete tasks in a timely manner
Detail oriented
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
High school graduate; college or some college preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Normal office environment with little exposure to excessive noise, dust, temperature and the like.
