Data and Research Support Specialist, Strategy Unit, New York, Deadline: 10/08/2018
- In collaboration with the Head of Research Services, identify, analyze, curate, and facilitate access to third-party research resources and OSF-produced data and knowledge products.
- Analyze strategy documentation in collaboration with Strategy Unit colleagues and other internal data sources to generate insights on emerging cross-cutting trends in OSF’s programmatic work.
- Ensure data integrity for digital assets and electronic resources.
- Perform data gathering and reports on pricing, usage, resource inquiries, and other metrics to support collection development and assessment, budget processes, decision making, impact measurement, and annual reporting requirements for Research Services.
- Collaborate with Information Specialists and other data-focused OSF colleagues to promote efficiencies and cross-network information sharing.
- Share knowledge of existing data products and the current trends in data analysis and visualization tools.
- Support trainings and information sessions on research, data, and information practices.
- Evaluate and help implement tools and solutions to improve the curation, discovery, usage, and preservation of information resources.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
- A minimum of 3 years of data management and analysis experience, ideally in an academic environment or research institution
- Demonstrated knowledge of research methodologies, tools for data/text mining and analysis, and major information providers and resources
- Ability to work effectively with quantitative and qualitative data, distill findings, and deliver compelling and informative reports
- Knowledge of metadata and archiving standards and best practices, with careful attention to detail
- Demonstrated proficiency with contemporary software systems and applications, including Excel, SharePoint, PowerPoint, and Google Analytics; experience with institutional repositories or digital asset/information management systems preferred
- Excellent writing, verbal, analytical, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with creative communications experience in reaching new audiences a plus
- Familiarity with copyright, preservation, and ethical issues related to research publications and research data practices
- Strong multi-tasker, with the ability to prioritize multiple projects and track workflow efficiently
- Ability to work well in a dynamic team-based environment and independently, as required
- Intellectual curiosity and enthusiasm for innovation
- Excellence in service delivery and relationship management
- Subject experience in global human rights and justice, social sciences, and/or international affairs preferred but not required
- Experience working in complex, hierarchical, and multi-stakeholder organizations preferred

The A. Philip Randolph Memorial Library is seeking an energetic, creative, and innovative Instructor/ Assistant/Associate /Full Professor to serve as Web and Systems Librarian. We are looking for an individual who enjoys engaging with undergraduate students from diverse backgrounds. In addition, the incumbent should be a caring and strong advocate for our students and their needs when using the Library.

As Web and Systems Librarian the incumbent will be responsible for administering EZProxy, SFX, and Serials Solutions, working closely with CUNY’s Office of Library Services. The incumbent will play a central role in managing the Library’s transition to a new library services platform (LSP).
The incumbent will participate in the Library’s consultation, instruction, and reference services. They will also be responsible for an area of collection development in the library. The incumbent must pursue an active scholarly agenda, and participate in college-and university-wide programs and committees as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- All titles require a Master’s in Library Science (MLS) or Master’s in Library Information Studies (MLIS), or closely related discipline from an ALA-accredited institution.
- At least three years’ experience in website management and development
- Experience working in a college or university library
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to work with people at all levels in a collegial, collaborative environment.
- Also required is the ability to work with others for the good of the institution.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Familiarity with Wordpress

The CUNY School of Medicine (CSOM) was created as a natural expansion of City College’s Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education program and it is continuing its 40 year mission of recruiting underrepresented minorities into medicine, increasing medical care in historically underserved communities, and boosting the number of primary care physicians. This is an exciting development for students as they are now able to complete in 7 years a B.S. degree at the Sophie Davis Undergraduate Program in Biomedical Education, followed by an M.D. degree at the CUNY School of Medicine. The first class of medical students began on August 15, 2016. CSOM has obtained the provisional accreditation in 2018, and awaits the results of the full accreditation visit in October 2019.
The City College Library and CSOM invite applications for a 12-month tenure-track medical library faculty position at the Associate Professor or Full Professor Rank to develop library services to meet the mission and strategic plan of CSOM, including education, research, clinical care, and outreach. The experienced candidate is expected to integrate the library resources and services into the medical school curriculum. We are seeking a candidate who is able to provide exceptional research support and consultations, collaborate with teaching faculty on assignment and course content, and maintain effective collections in the health sciences disciplines. This position will require experience with the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME) accreditation standard for library services and resources.
This Medical Librarian reports to the Associate Dean and Chief Librarian of the City College of New York (CCNY) Library and works in close consultation with the Dean of CSOM for all programmatic issues, and will collaborate with our current Medical Librarian.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Serves as the head of the Medical Library, and is responsible for the direction and the administration of all medical library activities
- Works with administrators and faculty in the School of Medicine to integrate library resources and services into the medical school curriculum to assure that the library collection, services and programs are meeting the needs of faculty, staff and students.
- Develops new services and supports the outreach programs to the affiliated clinical sites and hospitals
- Provides course integrated instruction, orientation sessions, seminars, library sponsored workshops to support research and evidence-based practice
- Provides instructional support to students as requested by the CSOM administration and/or faculty members
- Conducts expert searches, including systematic and integrative reviews
- Represents the library as an ex-officio member of the School of Medicine Curriculum Committee. Serves on specially appointed committees within the School of Medicine, completing tasks assigned to the committees
- Participates in planning and execution of activities associated with School of Medicine accreditation by the LCME; prepares and represents the medical library during the accreditation survey visit
- Continuously monitor and evaluate usage of library resources and services consistent with current trends and issues in medical education, scholarly communication, copyright, and the changing roles and technologies of academic medical libraries
- Engages in scholarly activities in accordance with the CCNY Libraries and CCNY College standards for promotion and tenure
- Communicate and provide training in the availability and usage of library resources to clinical affiliate faculty, residents and medical school students.
- Performs other duties related to the medical school as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
All titles require a Master's in Library Science (MLS), Master's in Library Information Studies (MLIS), or closely related discipline from an ALA-accredited institution. Also required is the ability to work with others for the good of the institution.
For appointment as Associate, or Full Professor, a second graduate degree is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Five or more years of relevant job experience showing progressive growth in responsibilities in areas relevant to an academic medical library with three years in a supervisory position

We are seeking a dynamic, friendly and creative librarians
to join our team! Candidates will be required to work 18 ½ hours per week. Schedule will include day, evening, and weekend hours.
Responsibilities:
Provide assistance to patrons at the adult services desk with reference and reader’s advisory services through print and electronic sources.
Assist patrons with the use of electronic sources as well as digital devices.
Assist with collection development.
Plan and conduct book discussions and assist with other library programming.
Provide excellent customer service to our patrons.
Other projects as assigned.
Qualifications:
MLS Degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA accredited institution.
Library experience working in adult services is preferred.
Strong written and oral communication skills; ability to form effective working relationships with staff and the public.
Must be a Nassau County resident.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Competencies:
Excellent computer and organizational skills as related to library and library services.
