Objective:
Serve as a Learning
Resource Center (LRC) Librarian in a medium-sized career college. The LRC Librarian assists
the LRC Manager in helping students and faculty in the use of Learning Resource
Center resources and equipment, and performs duties related to the operation of
the LRC. Frequently
works unsupervised and is expected to solve problems independently.
Description of Duties:
- Abide by, and enforce, the policies and procedures of the Learning Resource Center
- Provide library reference services
- Provide one-on-one research and citation consultations
- Assist students and faculty with various technology questions
- Teach one shot library instruction sessions
- Perform Circulation duties
- Conduct library orientations for new students and faculty
- Help create library and school displays
- Help organize library event and programs
- Assist with Collection Development
- Assist in processing and maintaining library collections
- Assist in maintaining the appearance of the Learning Resource Center
- Other duties as assigned
Required
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA accredited program
Preferred
Qualifications:
- Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
- Excellent technology skills
- Proven problem solving ability
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel) required
- Familiarity with online health care journal databases preferred
Full-time,
exempt
Location:
Rego Park, Queens
Hours:
This position is primarily scheduled for
evening hours, but you may also be asked to work some morning hours. Schedule
flexibility is a must.
