Winthrop Group is seeking a "Reference Archivist/Librarian" to work onsite with one of its corporate clients based in Poughkeepsie.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The Winthrop Group's Information & Archival Services Division has an immediate opening for a full-time Reference Archivist/Librarian to help enhance the value of the Archives for one of our corporate clients located in Poughkeepsie, NY. As part of the team, the Archivist will provide reference and research assistance, image rights clearance, and digitization and cataloging services.
Primary Tasks and Responsibilities
* Evaluate and respond to reference questions and research requests
* Coordinate image clearance reviews to ensure materials do not contain sensitive or confidential information and submit images to Intellectual Property legal team
* Provide "scan-on-demand" copies for ingest and cataloging into CMS
* Assist social media team with requests for physical and digital resources
* Compile and track monthly Services Requests
Qualifications
* MA or MLS/MLIS with experience providing reference and research services
* Minimum of two to three years work in archival setting
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Ability to multitask and work cooperatively with colleagues and clients
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working in a corporate archives setting
* Detail-oriented and proficient in finding practical solutions
* Familiarity with digitization requirements and descriptive metadata
* Adaptable to changes in priorities, a problem-solver and a self-starter.
Compensation
Competitive rate based on experience and qualifications. Work will begin in November and run until December 31, 2017 with strong possibility for renewal in 2018.
