F/T - Reference Librarian - Midtown Law Firm

 New York Midtown Law Firm - Reference Librarian

A prestigious international law firm whose lawyers are committed to excellence in law and diversity is seeking a Reference Librarian. 

Hours:                        Monday through Friday 10:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Working as part of a firm-wide virtual library team, this individual’s primary responsibility is to respond to the research needs of attorneys in the New York office.  This individual is also responsible for electronic research instruction and orientation of new attorneys.  Special projects and interactions with a highly collaborative team of librarians firm wide add variety and provide opportunities for growth. 

 An M.L.S. from an ALA-accredited program is preferred. Three to five years experience in a law firm is required. Expertise in using both legal and business resources in print and online, with ability to master new technology quickly.  Proficiency with Westlaw, LexisNexis, IntelliConnect, Knowledge Mosaic and similar databases is required. 

Proficiency with Bloomberg, Moody’s, S&P and FactSet is desirable.  Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook is required.  Familiarity with PowerPoint is a plus.  The successful candidate must have excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills, as well as an ability to function independently and as part of a collaborative team.

 Ability to follow complex instructions with high degree of accuracy.  The successful candidate will have the ability to meet strict deadlines and effectively complete designated job assignments under significant time and pressure. Must be able to multitask.
