Digital Archive Assistant (Temporary)
The
Practising Law Institute (PLI), a leading continuing legal education
organization and legal publisher based in Manhattan, seeks a talented
and self-motivated individual to
assist in efforts to expand the electronic availability of our
published back catalog. This is a temporary opportunity that is expected
to last
three months.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Locating ebook files and/or generating them via an automated generation process
- Evaluating files for completeness
- Performing basic XML cleanup
- Managing ebook components using PLI’s content management systems
- Deploying ebooks to our online research database, PLI PLUS.
- Indexing archival content with the PLI taxonomy
- Other duties, as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Exposure to XML, HTML or similar markup languages
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office products, such as Word and Excel
- Familiarity with the use of research databases
- A record of dependability working independently
- An aptitude for detail-oriented work.
