Research Coordinator
Location: Chicago, NY, or DC

Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive, timely, and accurate research solutions in response to broad based research projects and presents results in a clear and actionable format for consulting professionals.
  • Research, analyzes, and synthesizes information from diverse sources and convert results into a useable and understandable format.
  • Collaborate with senior research leadership performing daily tasks including document processing and maintenance of quarterly/weekly industry initiatives.
  • Responsible for working across practice areas and identifying potential opportunities of research collaboration.
  • Serve as team representative of the Research Services Group
  • Markets the Research Services Group to staff and senior management while expanding awareness and utilization of day to day research within the office
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor degree required; Master’s in Library Science degree preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with all levels of staff and management.
  • The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal, organizational, writing and communication skills.
  • Superior skill and ability in multi-tasking and prioritizing.
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and to approach problems with a sense of ownership, enthusiasm and innovation in a collaborative team environment.
  • Self-motivated with proven ability to effectively work with diverse personalities in a dynamic and demanding environment.
  • Must have proficiency in web-based proprietary databases (e.g. Capital IQ, Factiva, LexisNexis, Dialog, Thomson Research), electronic, print, and library resources.
  • Experience using Bloomberg or Factset is a plus.
  • 4-6 years of research experience in a law or corporate library environment
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications

F/T - Sr Researcher/Recruitment-Exec Search - Time Warner

Job Description

DESCRIPTION:
The Senior Researcher will be a part of the Research team within Time Warner’s best-in-class Worldwide Recruitment & Executive Search group. Reporting to the Director of Research, this person has global responsibility for identifying potential internal and external passive candidates for VP level and above searches, including name generation, bio creation, talent mapping and market intelligence gathering, to best support the executive search team in conducting talent searches enterprise wide. The Senior Researcher is also responsible for pipelining diverse pools
of talent in anticipation of future openings based on business need, as well as in high turn/hard to fill areas.


DUTIES/OBJECTIVES:

Strategically develops recruitment research by using strong telephone skills to call directly into targeted companies; utilizing various directories such as LinkedIn, Hoovers, and Zoom Info; mining internal executive search database and outside resume databases; direct sourcing; networking; and attending industry events.

Creates target company lists and conducts research of those companies to locate names, titles and contact information for individuals in similar positions for which we are recruiting, while keeping diversity efforts in the forefront of each search.


Maintains current, accurate research on a regular and consistent basis.


Provides presentation quality market intelligence reports (i.e. organizational structure, industry and company analysis, scope of positions in competing companies, etc. as needed, as well as status reports throughout the research process.


Proactively builds pipelines of diverse talent related to key business and hiring initiatives across the divisions, as well as for high turnover and hard to fill positions at the Director level and above.


Monitors industry trends and new business initiatives in competitive industries, shares information with the team as appropriate, and maintains data in research database (Encore) on a real time basis.


Desired Skills & Experience

REQUIREMENTS:

• 3-7 years’ experience in hiring/recruiting with heavy emphasis on search research or other transferable research skills.

• Knowledge of recruitment practices, relevant job markets and research processes
• Previous experience using the telephone to acquire hard-to-obtain information, coupled with strong knowledge of internet research tactics
• Experience in fact-checking a plus
• Previous experience in executive search is highly desirable
• Advanced MS Word, Excel, Resume Data Base, Internet and Outlook skills

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required.

Academic Literacy Librarian

Our client, located in Brooklyn NY, seeks a forward-thinking, creative, enthusiastic, service-oriented librarian to expand the information literacy programs and services supporting research skills instruction. The individual in this position will serve as a key contact with academic and non-academic departments that support the academic experience.

Educational Requirements:
  • Master’s degree in Library Information Sciences from an ALA-accredited institution
  • Degree or background in an engineering discipline or related field highly desirable
  • Experience in an Academic library is necessary
Requirements:
  • 3 years experience providing reference/instructional service in an academic library and/or teaching experience
  • Proven record of developing and successfully implementing information literacy programs in a college or university library
  • Must have excellent training experience and comfortable addressing large groups of students and or staff
  • Proactive thinker, well spoken and high-energy
