Job Summary:
Goodwin Procter LLP, a leading law firm with
850+ attorneys in nine offices, seeks a team-oriented individual to join the
staff of the firm’s fast-paced research
department. This position will be located in the firm’s New York office
and will cover the hours from 12 PM-8 PM EST.
Principal Responsibilities:
The research
librarian will provide advanced legal and business research to members of the
firm, conduct both formal and informal research instruction, participate in attorney and staff orientation
and conduct other projects as required.
Job Qualifications:
A qualified candidate
should have an MLS from an ALA-accredited
institution, minimum 5 years experience as a research librarian in a
professional services firm, demonstrated knowledge of legal and business
research sources and experience conducting IP, securities, mergers and
acquisitions and other business related research. Candidate should be
customer-service oriented, have the ability to work quickly with attention to
detail, provide high quality work product and be able to work as a member of a
virtual and centralized research team. A forward-thinking approach to providing research in a
fast-paced organization is a must. Knowledge of Microsoft Sharepoint and web
development helpful. Demonstrated success and experience performing research in
professional services firm can be substituted for the MLS degree.
