F/T - Lib Bibliographic & Acquisitions Facilitator, Hunter Coll (NY)

 

The Library Bibliographic & Acquisitions Facilitator at Hunter College Libraries maintains the libraries financial records, monitors the collections budget, assists with the acquisitions workflows, and prepares financial analysis and reports of the libraries accounts and expenses. The Library Bibliographic & Acquisitions Facilitator reports to the Acquisitions Manager at Hunter College Libraries.

LIBRARY SERVICE:

-Tracks Purchase Orders to ensure that materials and services are delivered in a timely manner.

-Verifies bibliographic details of requested materials and checks them against available resources.

-Participates in department governance and other policy-setting activities.

-Collaborates with personnel across service areas to accomplish goals and objectives. Exercises individual judgement to resolve service issues at point of need.

-Applies input from community for implementing services.

-Maintains current knowledge of trends in libraries and related fields to suggest new services for development and implementation.

FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY:

-Issues purchasing requisitions and assures that payments for library resources are issued on time.

-Monitors library accounts and prepares reports and analysis of library budgets and expenses. Participates in annual planning for Library collections budgets.

-Provides input for anticipated local and system needs.

-Communicates goals and strategic priorities to direct reports.

-Assist in budget priorities regarding assigned area; prepare budget reports; administer, coordinate, monitor and control expenditures and budget for collection development, programs, marketing and advertising.

QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor's Degree required.

Vaccine Requirement

Candidates will be required to provide proof of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19 upon commencing employment. Exemption (medical or religious) requests to this requirement will be considered in accordance with applicable law. Being fully vaccinated is defined for this purpose as being at least two weeks past their final dose of an authorized COVID-19 vaccine regimen. Final candidates must be fully vaccinated as of their first day of employment.

  • Coordinates with faculty, students, and librarians to ensure needed materials are accessible on a timely basis

  • Provides general information in the use of library resources and services

  • Keeps records of library transactions and generates reports on usage

  • Exercises sound judgment in enforcing library policies and procedures

  • May perform and/or supervise daily operations of a service unit such as the Reserve Desk

  • May assist with digital resource management, acquisitions, and updating Library web pages

  • Performs related duties as assigned.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

Salary commensurate with education and experience.

Salary rate: $43,520 - $66,887
