Subscriptions Administrator (ProLibra) (NY)

Administrator – Market Data and Publication Subscriptions - Americas
Investment Banking, Contract Position,, New York City
                               
Responsible for the end-to-end management of market data and publication subscriptions on behalf of the client

Key Tasks and responsibilities:

* Negotiate contracts and contract renewal commercial terms with vendors on behalf of the client.
* Seek cost approval from the client for all cost commitments.
* Manage the user inventory, requesting new accounts and cancelling leaver’s accounts.  Maintain user inventory records in MDM or alternative provided by the client.
* Pay invoices through the clients billing system to the appropriate cost centers/opportunity codes.
* Load or assist in the loading of all contracts on the client’s central database (currently S2C).
* Track and report on market data costs to the client’s stakeholders.
* Manage the vendor relationship to include regular review meetings, managing demos and trails of upgrades or alternative sources.
* Communicate subscription commercial terms and contractual T&Cs to the team and subscriber group.
* Analyze vendor provided and internal usage statistics as well as polling users to understand usage patters and determine future requirements.
* Have basic understanding of contractual T&Cs, advise bankers on allowed data usage under these T&Cs.
* Understand the data recharge methodology and check recharges are done correctly.
* Maintain subscription records (contracts, invoices, approvals).

Requirements:

* Degree or equivalent. A qualification in an information related discipline is desirable.
* Experience managing market data/information vendor relationships with a broad knowledge of the content and functionality or the major market data/information sources used in investment banking BIS
* Good communication, negotiation and interpersonal skills are essential to interact with a broad range of internal and client stakeholders well as a large number of information vendors.
* Flexible and highly organized. Able to work proactively, and interact with colleagues in other regions on various contracts and projects.
* Good MS office skills, advanced Excel skills.
* Some experience of Business Objects, MDM, Optima, S2C or similar billing, contract and inventory software is also an advantage.

Electronic Resources Coordinator

Description/Job Summary

The Electronic Resources Coordinator is responsible for the daily operation of all aspects of electronic serials and assists the Technical Services Manager with varied tasks related to the firm’s use of electronic resources. Responsibilities include checking in and distributing electronic serials, maintaining user IDs, updating contract information, tracking and reporting usage of electronic resources, troubleshooting access problems, providing technical support for users in all offices and updating/importing electronic resources bibliographic records in the catalog. 

Responsibilities/Duties
  • Create and maintains user IDs and passwords for all electronic resources
  • Maintain all electronic resource contracts in contract management system
  • Resolve user access issues by responding directly to user inquiries and concerns, troubleshoot and perform regular maintenance
  • Liaise with the IT department and library vendors to resolve electronic resource technical issues
  • Track electronic resources usage; generate reports and provide metrics for budget planning and contract negotiations
  • Serve as a backup administrator for electronic resource management system
  • Document and maintain policies and procedures related to electronic resources
  • Manage all aspects of the Serials Module for electronic journals utilizing the integrated library system which includes: creating & updating serial control records, performing check ins, distributing & archiving electronic journals, claiming missing issues and, maintaining & updating routing lists
  • Work with outside cataloging agencies to process catalog records of online resources in a timely and accurate manner
  • Update URLs in the online catalog for electronic resources
  • Assist Library Director and Technical Services Manager with special projects
  • Support Technical Services Assistants as needed
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills
  • 1 to 2 years of relevant experience in library environment
  • Demonstrated experience using an integrated library system
  • Strong computer skills, extensive experience with Excel and other MS Office applications
  • Proficiency in electronic file folder structure and file formats; ability to save, retrieve and organize documents and navigate between folders
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a highly competitive and demanding environment
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a client focus
  • Ability to effectively present information verbally and in writing; fluency in oral and written English
  • Ability to prioritize, plan and multi-task work activities; adapts for changing conditions and works effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and self-motivated to produce accurate, timely and complete work product
  • Possess strong analytical skills and be resourceful in problem solving
Preferred Skills
  • Prior experience working in law or professional services library
  • Knowledge of library systems, particularly SIRSI and OCLC
  • Experience using Electronic Resource Management Systems such as Onelog and Research Monitor
Required Education
  • Bachelor’s degree
Preferred Education
  • ALA-accredited Master’s degree in Library Science

Job Description
The Department of Records and Information Services is seeking to hire a temporary grant funded Film Archivist. Under direct supervision by the project manager, the film archivist/digitization technician will be responsible for the digitization of the NYPD Surveillance Film collection. The film archivist/digitization technician will prepare, clean, re-house, and perform minor repairs on the film collection; run the film through the film scanner and software; perform any necessary digital correction and processing; enter condition and descriptive information into Archives Space; and perform quality control on the digital files.


Minimum Qualification Requirements
1. A Master’s degree from an accredited college in Library Science, Archival Science, American History, Political Science, or a related area; or 2. A baccalaureate degree form an accredited college and one year full-time professional experience in archival, records management or library work; or 3. Education and/or experience equivalent to "1" or "2" above. However, all candidates must have the baccalaureate degree from an accredited college.


Preferred Skills
 Master’s degree in Moving Image Archiving and Preservation, Library Science, Archives and Public History, or equivalent.
 Background and experience in film digitization and related technology, processing and cataloging records, and archival theory and best practices.

Summary:
The Evening and Weekend Librarian position reports to the Library Director, and works closely with library staff and patrons. Must demonstrate knowledge and interest in all aspects of library service in an academic setting. This position is an excellent opportunity for gaining valuable experience in higher education. Note: This is a part-time 19 hour a week regular position. 



THE OPPORTUNITY

The Library Assistant will assist in original and copy-cataloging of materials for The Scholastic Library & Archive with flexibility to adapt cataloging standards to local corporate needs; they will also assist in data cleanup in the library catalog database, weeding the collection, monitoring requests in RefTracker, circulation, serials management, and preparing materials for archival preservation. The Library Assistant will provide assistance to library clients in person, by telephone, and through email; and they will also support the marketing of library services throughout the company.

 
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
·         Original and copy-cataloging, adding materials to the library and archive collection 
·         Original cataloging of Scholastic Trade, Reading Clubs, Book Fairs, Education, Teaching Resources, National Partnerships, and Library Publishing materials 
·         Copy-cataloging of non-Scholastic titles for the reference library - Participation in SirsiDynix training sessions and webinars 
·         Data cleanup and RDA conversion of bibliographic records using MARC 21 conventions 
·         Weeding and archival preservation, assisting in the curation of library and archive materials 
·         Locating, repairing, and/or discarding materials in the library collection 
·         Packing and inventorying items for offsite storage, updating item records and offsite files 
·         Maintenance and organization of materials in the corporate library and archive 
·         Reference and circulation, providing assistance to library clients 
·         Monitoring specific item requests for materials from the archive, including books, kits, games, media, ephemera, flyers, catalogs, and Scholastic classroom magazine articles 
·         Locating specific information requests in electronic resources, including journal/news articles, market information, statistics, research, and Scholastic classroom magazine articles

HOW YOU CAN FIT
·         Must be a MLS/MLIS/MSLIS candidate, recent graduate, or have 1-2 years of professional experience in a corporate library and archive
·         Experience with library cataloging and circulation software is essential
·         Must be able to multi-task
·         Must be able to navigate electronic reference databases
·         Flexible - prepared to respond to a variety of library needs
·         Energetic and mobile - able to move freely through the library & archive, push library carts, and lift up to 40 lbs
·         Able to work a consistent schedule
·         Must be punctual
Specific skills:
