Drexel University Libraries (DUL) seeks a highly motivated and innovative Curricula Support Librarian with expertise in design or applied arts. The librarian will embed metaliteracy competencies in Drexel curriculum learning outcomes through partnerships with faculty. As a member of a team of subject librarians, the librarian has subject expertise in information resources and tools, pedagogy and research, and collaboratively contributes to the Libraries’ matrixed programs of Curricula Support, Information Assistance and Scholarly Connections.
Required
- ALA-accredited Master’s degree in library and information sciences
- Minimum of three years of relevant experience as a librarian in an information management organization
- Undergraduate degree, graduate coursework, and/or professional experience in design or applied arts
- Demonstrated knowledge of design and applied arts information resources, tools, and scholarly trends
- Demonstrated knowledge of design and applied arts pedagogy and current instructional techniques
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with strong customer service orientation and commitment to inclusiveness of diverse ideas and perspectives
- Evidence of self-motivation to address new challenges, ability to solve problems with minimal supervision and commitment to learn new knowledge and skills
- Excellent organizational skills, including time and project management
- Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic matrixed team environment
- Demonstrated involvement and contribution to the profession through service, presentations, publications, and/or research
- Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse, equitable, inclusive and welcoming work environment in both physical and online spaces
Preferred
- Experience working in a library or academic setting
- Advanced degree in Design Thinking, Industrial or Product Design, Media Arts, or related fields
