The Role:
 
We seek a Part Time Librarian who, reporting to the Manager of ILSS, will undertake administrative tasks, library support, research and billable tasks.
 
Duties / Responsibilities:
 
o Maintain all online research platforms;
o Schedule all Westlaw/Orbis/Mergent/WK VitalLaw/Law360/ALM and CLE Training Programs;
o Review and prepare Library Invoices for approval;
o Coordinate all attorney requests for new print publications and on-line resources;
o Recommend cost reductions of Library content;
o Maintain all library magazine/newspaper subscriptions;
o Obtaining resources from third parties (books, treatises and articles);
o Library print and e-book intake (on EOS/SirsiDynix);
o Create and set up Alerts for certain attorneys and paralegals;
o Monitor online resources for AK Practice Areas;
o Provide research services for attorneys and staff as needed.
 
Qualifications / Experience:
o MLS from an ALA accredited program preferred. Current graduate library science students are
encouraged to apply.
o Knowledge of print and electronic legal information sources.
o Ability to work independently.
o Detail-oriented.
o Preferred experience providing service in a law firm environment.
o Strong written and verbal communication skills.
o Ability to communicate and work effectively with vendors.
o Ability to communicate effectively with attorneys, staff, and team members regarding
commitments, deadlines, challenges, requests, etc.
 
AK staff currently work in the office three days per week. This position is part-time in-office for 14-19 hours per week.
