The Greenburgh Public Library is seeking a part-time substitute Librarian for Adult Reference Services. We are looking for a flexible individual able to work weekday, daytime shifts.
Responsibilities Include:
- Providing reference service and resource recommendations using print, media and digital resources
- Assisting patrons of all ages in the discovery and utilization of library offerings
- Instructing patrons in use of library catalog, computers, databases, and other electronic services
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Working knowledge of current and emerging library technology, services and programming trends for adults
- Strong technology skills; knowledge of Evergreen and SpringShare products a plus
- Demonstrated expertise and knowledge of online searching, social media, reference resources and databases
- Cultural competence skills
- Ability to communicate effectively with others, orally and in writing
Education/Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program
Compensation: $36.50 – 42.00 per hour based on experience
