Job Description Summary

 

Provide the entire GE Energy Financial Services (EFS”) business, domestic and global, with the framework for the information and data needed to research and transact deals in a timely fashion, and to develop new products to serve our customers. Support a knowledge system that enables EFS employees to maximize understanding of issues, companies, and industries with particular focus on the EFS leadership in the global Energy Transition. Conduct training on information resources to empower independent research and provide research to colleagues for the more difficult queries. Assess information resources, negotiate with vendors, manage budget. Contribute to weekly market intelligence newsletter.

 

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Proactively update EFS teams with latest relevant analyst and market research reports.   
  • Design and manage Knowledge Library and EFS Hub on a shared platform with reports and data appropriate to EFS business lines. 
  • Conduct research as requested by EFS teams in support of business initiatives and transactions in process or on the books. 
  • Train all new employees on the appropriate information resources available to them. 
  • Manage compliance of terms and conditions of appropriate use of information resources. 
  • Manage EFS Unplugged, a speaker series to present new ideas and encourage creative thinking.
  • Manage the information resource budget and allocate access as appropriate.
  • Manage subscriptions from vendor contracts to internal PO process to user management.

 

Basic Qualifications/Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree with experience in Energy (Renewables and Gas Power) research. 


Desired Characteristics

  • Experience working with/understanding of databases, news sources, and data relevant to the energy and finance industries, including Bloomberg, IHS, S&P Capital IQ, S&P Global Market Intelligence, BNEF, IJGlobal, Wood Mackenzie Power & Renewables. 
  • Research management experience. 
  • Solo researcher experience preferred.
  • Proven track record of successful research management. 
  • Master’s in library science or Knowledge Management or 5+ years relevant work experience with energy-related business.  
  • Creative thinker who can creatively provide data and information to global teams in a timely manner. 
  • Excellent structured thinking and written and oral communications skills. 
  • Strong team player with excellent influencing and leadership skills. 
  • Can-do attitude, preference for hands-on analysis.
