Saturday/Sub Adult & Information Services Librarian
The Cold Spring Harbor Library seeks a dynamic and creative individual to provide library services to our adult patrons on a part time basis.
The Library serves a community of 8,000 residents in a beautiful location overlooking the water on Long Island’s north shore.
Primary Duties:
Providing reader and reference services for adult patrons, including requesting books and placing holds through Sierra software and reader’s advisory services.
Answering online chat inquiries, using museum reservation software, assisting patrons in the use of library resources including electronic resources and devices.
Demonstrated knowledge of:
Public library organization, materials, methods and services.
Social media for communicating about library programs and services.
Bibliographic tools and sources. Knowledge of LibraryAware a plus.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s Degree from a library school accredited by the ALA or
Currently enrolled in a library school program accredited by the ALA
Experience as a Librarian in a public library setting a plus
Schedule:
One to two Saturdays per month – ability to “sub” on an “as-needed” basis.
Salary:
Trainee: $21/hr
Librarian: $24/hr (must have completed degree and hold NYS certification)
