Navigant Consulting, Inc. (NYSE: NCI) is a specialized, global professional services firm with a focus on markets and clients facing transformational change and significant regulatory or legal pressures.  The Firm primarily serves clients in the healthcare, energy and financial services industries. 
Research Services is Navigant’s centralized research and reference library function.  The team provides secondary research that supports client engagements, current awareness, business development, competitive intelligence, M&A, and thought leadership for all segments of the firm.
As a member of the Research Services team, the Senior Coordinator will primarily provide business research related to Navigant’s Healthcare segment.  The Healthcare team provides expert advice and services to hospital, health plan, and government health clients to address a wide range of business issues including market analyses, clinical transformation, strategy development, and business planning.  The Senior Coordinator will also provide research to support other practices and corporate initiatives as needed.  
Job Responsibilities:
  • Provide comprehensive, timely, and accurate secondary business research in response to research project requests and initiatives
  • Research, analyze, and synthesize information from diverse and reputable sources and edit results into a clear and actionable format for internal and external clients
  • Identify, monitor, and evaluate current industry news and potential opportunities; disseminate that information on a regular basis
  • Support practice sales objectives through creating and regularly updating client profiles, competitive intelligence, and client targeting research
  • Conduct thorough literature reviews on a variety of business and healthcare topics
  • Collaborate with Research Services colleagues and contribute to team objectives
  • Develop strong relationships with our client-facing professionals and proactively seek opportunities to collaborate with them 
  • Understand client problems and situations and Navigant’s service offerings; use this understanding to identify potential opportunities to expand Research Services support 
  • Market Research Services within the firm and communicate the value of information services and products to staff and senior leadership
Qualifications
  • Master’s in Library and/or Information Science, or equivalent experience strongly preferred
  • 4+ years secondary research experience in a corporate or law library environment
  • Proficiency in web-based proprietary research databases 
  • Demonstrated ability to work both independently and collaboratively with all levels of staff and management in a dynamic and demanding environment
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and to approach problems with a sense of ownership, enthusiasm, and innovation
  • Proven ability to juggle multiple priorities under tight deadlines 
  • Comfortable participating in research project meetings, developing relationships in the practices, reaching out and presenting services to new teams, and conducting training sessions
  • Ability to discern client needs and share information effectively during frequent communications with clients and colleagues
  • Excellent interpersonal, writing and communication skills
  • Strong customer-service orientation and prioritization skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Deep knowledge of standard business research tools such as Factiva, LexisNexis, Capital IQ, and S&P Market Intelligence
  • Experience using healthcare research tools such as Definitive Healthcare, AHA Dataviewer, and MGMA survey database
  • Familiarity with the healthcare industry
  • Experience providing research in a consulting firm
  • Experience and interest in developing knowledge management platforms
  • Interest in developing outreach programs to enhance relationships with consulting practices
