Longwood Public Library seeks
Part-Time Librarian I or Trainee for Local History Department
We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic librarian with a strong inclination toward historical research to join our staff in our Local History Department.
The successful candidate must be flexible, be highly motivated, and knowledgeable about archives, special collections, and genealogy. They should have experience in arranging and describing collections, possess strong technical skills, and be willing to think out of the box when helping patrons in this fast-paced public library setting.
Duties in Local History Include (but are not limited to): Staffing the Local History Reference Desk, assisting patrons with local history and genealogy research, and arranging, describing, and digitizing collections.
Qualifications: ALA accredited MLS or currently attending an ALA accredited school, working toward an MLS degree.
Schedule: Maximum of 17.5 hours per week which will include daytime and evening hours and a weekend rotation.
Salary: $27.50 for Librarian I / $24.50 for Librarian Trainee
